Leica pinhole glasses

February, 2013

Group Project with Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez and Fotini Markopoulou

Pinhole glasses work on the same principle as a pinhole camera. They help people with refractive errors to have a clearer image on the retina. They allow only the parallel beam of lights to reach the eye. It is useful for people who are either far or near-sighted and are easy to make.

Our brief was: scissors for the brand Leica. After a week of brainstorming and research about Leica values, we came up with this tool. It should help to spread the fabrication of pinhole glasses in developing countries where they can be used by children to read the blackboard at school.
